There is a detached class of matters that is called semiconductors. This class was discovered in early 1980's but there were no needed technologies to perform the further researches. The analysis of semiconductors was carried on only in the 1920's. The first successful research was carried out by the Russian scientists in 1923. They proved that semiconductors may be utilized to accelerate fluctuations. There was no possibility to develop some unique devices as semiconductor assembly. Only in the beginning of the 60's with the invention of transistors in 1949 the broad use of crystal detectors began. That was the beginning of the era of semiconductor technologies.

A lot of physicists carry out a huge amount of experiments just to get more knowledge about such feature of semiconductors as stimulated emission. By means of such principles as p - n barriers and heterojunction scientists managed to design laser system in the beginning of the 60's.
